It’s that time of year when there are only a few sessions left on the calendar and most of them are holiday sessions. I’m not sure there’s anything that makes my heart happier. I always love shooting lifestyle sessions, but when it’s all about Christmas photos at home, my heart basically morphs itself into the shape of a Christmas tree.

I’ve been photographing this family for many years, now, and it never ceases to amaze me how much each of the kids grow each year. I’m pretty sure their oldest grew at least a foot since last fall and by next year she’ll surpass Kasey. Last year, we shot their session as an in-home lifestyle session, as well, and it was my favorite of theirs … until now. Kasey has great style and a knack for home decor, as well. To see their home decorated for Christmas was absolutely magical. When I shot this session, my own decorations weren’t up yet, but it made me want to rush home and get to work. Kasey and Brian planned some fun cookie decorating for the kids to do during our session, but the icing on the cake (cookie?) is when they joined in.
