The conclusion of my 2024 wedding season comes with a very special backstory of how I know the bride. I’ve known Hayley since she was a little girl. Her older sister and I became fast friends after we moved to Michigan when I was 11 and while Hayley was much younger than us, she’d often be with us whenever I visited their home. Fast forward to our adult years and Hayley reached out to me about shooting her and Josh’s wedding and it was the easiest ‘yes’ I’ve ever said to a bride.
Hayley and Josh celebrated their Atlas Valley Golf Club Wedding (which I keep appropriately mistyping as Atlast) in Grand Blanc, Michigan on the most beautiful fall day. The trees were showing off their colors, the air was perfect and crisp with a breeze blowing. You never know what you’re going to get with an October wedding in the midwest, but it was perfect down to every last bit.
I always have my own favorite moments from the weddings I photograph and this wedding was no exception. I’m definitely a misty-eyed wedding photographer, but when you know some of the extended family it always hits different. From the tear rolling down Josh’s cheek as Hayley approached, to the cake made by Hayley’s sister, and Peyton sweetly watching Hayley and Josh have their first dance, these are some of the pieces of their story I love the most.
Hayley and Josh and Peyton, congratulations to you all and best wishes now and forever more.
