This Ambassador House wedding was my first time visiting the Historic Ambassador House and Heritage Gardens and I absolutely loved everything about this outdoor Indianapolis wedding venue. The house and grounds are beautiful and perfect for portraits and I’m always a fan of an open air reception!
Allison and Logan’s beautiful fall wedding ceremony has the most beautiful sentiment and story woven into it. They were married at North United Methodist Church, the church that Allison grew up in. But her family’s ties to the church started long before her, and even long before her parents. She knows every door and hallway of the church (and if you haven’t been, there are a lot of these), but the most magical part of it all is that her parents were married in the small courtyard of the church. We took some time to take some portraits of the two of them in the same spot they said their vows and Allison and her father shared a first look before the ceremony there, as well. The courtyard of this church has stuck with me since I shot Betsy and Nate’s wedding here years ago. It’s a gorgeous space for portraits, sure, but there’s also something so peaceful and calming about it – surrounded by architecture and then a busy city on the outsides of those walls, but so serene in the center.
Allison and Logan chose their details and decor very carefully, weaving in all their favorite bits and pieces of their relationship and story together – from replicas and paintings of where they got engaged, to maple syrup, to breakfast for dinner (or should I say brinner?). It was simply and sentimental and everything I love about weddings. And yes, if you’re wondering, dinner was absolutely amazing. As a wedding photographer, I eat a lot of wedding dinners each year, but this was my first brinner wedding and will now be the menu to beat. There was am omelette station, endless bacon, french toast, pastries and a mimosa bar. [[Chef’s kiss]]
Allison and Logan, thank you thank you for trusting me to document your celebrations. I enjoyed every moment of your day right down to Logan being hoisted into the air at the end of it all. Best wishes to you both!
