Spring and fall tend to be my favorite seasons of the year for family photos, but September has been winning my heart over these past few years. Shooting a late-summer session means you escape ((some of)) the heat and humidity, but still get the look and feel of summer. It also means the greens have started to deepen in preparation for fall, and I looovvveeee these deeper tones.

Jasmine and Najee are new to Indy after relocating earlier this year from Philly, where Najee played for the Philadelphia Eagles. Now playing for the Indianapolis Colts, Jasmine and Najee had family in town to kick off the season. Jasmine reached out after finding my work along her way of searching for an Indianapolis family photographer, and we quickly scheduled a summer family session for them while family was still visiting. … and then the rains hit. And it rained, and rained, and rained. FOR DAYS.

We rescheduled our first session in hopes of still fitting it in while their company was around, but ended up having to reschedule a second time when the weather didn’t let up. While we have plans to still get those shots the next time they’re in town, we lucked out beyond belief with weather for our time together. It was GORGEOUS when we got together to shoot last week. Of course, this family made it all so easy – the girls are absolutely adorable and Najee and Jasmine are head-over-heels for each other. Families that show up ready to play together are my absolute favorite and these guys did not disappoint. There are just so many to choose from!

Lucky for us, Jasmine’s Mom was still in town! It was so sweet watching her with her grand babies. When Twizzlers are life. 😂These two are tying the knot next year, so it was only fitting that we snuck in some shots of just the two of them. Hellloooooo, beautiful people!!
