Just a week ago I was up in Michigan (I make the trip a couple times a year for sessions) with these beautiful people and some serious hair envy. Little Milah had just turned one (and even had her one-year shots earlier in the day before our shoot – ouch!) and I feel so lucky to be the one to document this milestone for these three.
Jessica is a friend of one of my long-time clients and knew just what to expect from our shoot. Her and Jon did a phenomenal job of NOT looking at the camera and creating emotional family moments, instead. Plus, Jessica’s outfit color combo paired with her hair and the evening lighting was an Indianapolis photographer’s dream-come-true… especially for a week of Michigan travel sessions!
Turns out, Milah has some of the most intense expressions and gave me everything from serious to sassy to joke’s-on-you. I adore expressive eyebrows – especially on baby faces. They just steal my heart over. I love how intense every reaction and expression becomes… everything is intensified. I couldn’t narrow down this gallery and I couldn’t narrow down this blog post. These family sessions are all about capturing personalities, emotions, and relationships, and Milah stole the show. The moments and memories hidden in these photos are just heartwarming – from eating goldfish crackers like a dog (and REFUSING to use hands) to moving into Mom’s nose tickles to kissing Dad from on top of his shoulders. I LOVE this session. <3
Jessica and Jon, watch out. I’m pretty sure this is one you’re going to see a lot of in the teenage years. Look at that independent determination. <3
So they’ll always remember those chubby little legs and that baby hair.
