Amanda and Joey were a late add to my 2022 wedding calendar, but it all seemed like a perfect fit and fell into place smoothly. Even though I’m based out of Indianapolis, being from Michigan I find myself still shooting weddings in the are each year. This year I had the amazing fortune of shooting 3 (well, technically I’ve shot two so far, but I’m headed up for the third next week). I was already scheduled to be in town for Ellen and Chad’s wedding and a couple of other sessions, so when Amanda and Joey reached out, it was an easy yes.
Their wedding marks my third time shooting a Ford Piquette Plant wedding and I’ll never not be in awe of the space – especially since I only get to shoot there once every couple of years. Even with it being my third time there, this marks my first (of hopefully many yet to come) time up on the roof for sunset photos there. And here’s the kicker – it wasn’t even sunset. Not even close to it. But the skies were perfect and our timeline was drawing to a close and the staff welcomed us up onto the roof with the most gorgeous, golden views of Detroit, and it was magical.
Amanda and Joey, thank you for trusting me to document your day at such short notice. Thank you for sharing a bit of your city on one side of the bridge with me congratulations again to you both!
