Megan and Josh’s fall wedding in Indianapolis marks my last wedding of the year. Lucky for me, I ended it at one of my favorite Indianapolis wedding venues, Mavris Arts & Event Center, complete with trains and helicopters and all. Not only that, but we also managed to snag the last bits of fall color for this mid-November wedding. Megan and Josh came into town for their wedding, and scoped out locations a couple days ahead of time for portraits. They had hoped to have fall leaves in their photos and Lockerbie Square delivered… and then some. It was their fall leaf clean up day and we got there just as the crews were starting to pick up piles along the street. Josh checked in with the crew and the wedding party leaf-tossing began!
Every wedding is so unique to me and Megan and Josh’s wedding had so many special details woven into their day. I got a chance to visit Kathryn’s Bridal Bar for the start of day and it was absolutely adorable. Brides, if you’re looking for a place to take your girls for hair and makeup, check this spot out! From there it was off to Mavris for details and getting ready, then a ride on the trolley to Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral for the ceremony, Lockerbie Square for portraits, and then back to Mavris to finish out the day. It was a busy day filled with fortunes from fortune cookies, pages from Harry Potter, dog-shaped cufflinks, a life-sized blow-up Gumby, pies, pies, and more pies, laughter and tears, helicopters and trains, and bubbles. Lots and lots of bubbles. It was the perfect way to round out my 2021 wedding season and this post is the perfect way to wrap up blogs for the year, as well.
