This Holcomb Gardens family session was only my second time ever shooting at Holcomb Gardens, but it’s obviously a favorite for Indianapolis photographers as it was packed! Everyone was so friendly and took turns sharing favorite spots (the bridge, for one) and it was the perfect late-November evening to squeeze in the last of the fall sessions for the year. With fall happening so late this year, we lucked out with some lasting foliage, whereas things would normally be bare after the first week in November.

Jacquelyn and Chuck took turns wrangling the dogs, who wanted nothing more than to chase the other dogs also there for their fall photos, and Boots shared with me about his upcoming birthday and favorite things to do (like play board games!). We explored all areas of the gardens that gave us even the tiniest bit of background color, but ended at the perfect little spot that turned our session into a fall wonderland. Top it all off with some leaf tossing and a giggling kid, and you’ve got yourself a fall session… even if it was nearly December!
