Did you catch the crazy story about Prom? Well, it sort of happened again on the night of Simon’s graduation. Don’t worry, though, this isn’t just fourth-child-syndrome, but instead it’s the result of CRAZY graduation day scheduling. You see, Simon was up and out the door super early in the morning for a seriously long graduation ceremony rehearsal and came back only to rush to mow the neighbor’s lawn. During this time, I left to catch a flight back to CO (didn’t even get to say goodbye, other than a wave from the car window while he was mowing – AHH!) and Jordan packed up her stuff to head back to school for the weekend.
Simon wrapped up work, quickly showered and changed, and it was off to graduation for him. My folks followed a few hours behind, but the graduates had to be there über early… there are no pre-ceremony pics!
The ceremony then took place in the evening, finishing up sometime after sunset, which would have still been okay, except Simon threw his cap and came home without one.
Ay-yi-yi.
With a bit of prompting and persuading from Mom and I, Simon picked up one of the spare caps from the school and held his gear for my August trip home. So on a sunny Sunday night, we set out into the magical backyard of my parent’s house for a little graduation-senior-photo-cap-and-gown-mini shoot. Success! All senior year traditions have now been properly documented. Casey and her camera to the rescue! Literally.
Proud of this kid for following his dream of becoming an architect and having completed his official first week at college. Only about 250 more weeks to go! <3
