Shawn has had this summer family session on the books for months and months, and we finally got a chance to meet just a couple of weeks ago. Originally, we planned this session to include Shawn’s mom so she could be in some shots with the grandkids, but then COVID-19 happened, we had to reschedule, and she was unable to be there on our newly scheduled evening. But that, the dog getting out as they were leaving to come and meet me, and a slew of other challenges, nothing could stop Shawn and her kids from enjoying the session.

While the evening hadn’t gone to her original plan (after MONTHS of planning it), you never would’ve been able to tell. She’s the type of person who’s energy is contagious and the people around her light up when she laughs. Look at the photos – see for yourself! Their last family session was more than 7 years ago and Shawn wanted to capture them in this stage of life. It can be hard to get older kids to loosen up in front of the camera, but the end of our session brought some of my favorite shots of older kids I’ve ever taken.

Shawn, thank you for bringing your family out to meet me and for being so flexible through all of the months of planning. I’m so glad we finally got our evening in and got a chance to meet!
