Bree first contacted me back in February to schedule a couple’s session in celebration of their new puppy, Cooper. We scheduled for late March, but as winter stuck around longer, we started pushing our date in hopes of nicer weather. It must’ve all been meant to be because just a couple of months later, Bree found out that they were expecting, so we rescheduled again, and this time for an extra special date.
On the day of their session, Bree and Joe would have an appointment in the morning to find out the gender of their newest family member and Bree began planning for a smoke bomb gender reveal. When we arrived at the location, they let me know they had been too excited to wait to find out and already knew the gender (I don’t blame them – I wouldn’t be able to wait, either!). They intended to use the photos to announce the gender to friends and family, so we still got to make Bree’s vision come to life. I have to admit, I’ve been wanting to do one of these for a while now, and while we didn’t have a windless evening, we certainly had fun dancing around in the field with the smoke bombs!
The rest of the session was a combination of family photos, maternity photos, and couple photos all meshed together. As you scroll through, be sure to take note when Cooper’s nose and face become covered in dirt (and his mouth is filled with it, too!). I think there still may be a bit of dirt on my lens, even, from a sneak-attack-sniff while I was shooting. These guys were such good sports and let him love on their faces regardless of his sandy tongue. Gotta love that puppy love!
Bree and Joe, congratulations on your little girl!
Just look at that dirt-filled face. 😂
But you guys…. I love you!!
My favorite. When you ask couples to do something you know isn’t entirely possible and you get this instead. 😍
