I’ve been looking forward to this elopement since Avril reached out to me in early December. I met with her and Ben just after the holidays and immediately knew we were a good fit for one another. Avril and Ben don’t live in Indianapolis, so I lucked out in connecting with them on their hunt for an Indianapolis Elopement Photographer. They’re outdoorsy, and adventurous… a couple after my own heart. We brainstormed ideas about their festivities and celebrations and when I heard they wanted to shoot portraits in their wedding attire in their canoe, my insides flipped upside down. It’s basically what I’ve been dreaming of for the past 5 years and they were handing it to me on a silver platter. Just wait for that post… you are NOT going to want to miss it.
Avril and Ben said their vows at the Indiana State House in front of their parents after a morning of pampering at the nearby Homewood Suites and Brick and Mortar Barber Shop. It’s always such a sweet thing to go through the emotions with my clients – they laugh, I laugh. They cry, I tear up. It doesn’t matter how long I’ve known them for, there’s just something about the connection that’s made during our time prepping for this milestone together that makes me feel overjoyed for couples as they seal the deal with a kiss… and in this case, a fist pump!
They celebrated afterwards at Metazoa, a brewery packed full of dogs, which is my ideal situation (and theirs, too!). They cut a cake made by Avril and decorated collectively by the two of them. It was all so connected and personal and seemingly perfectly them. I went home afterwards floating on post-elopement highs and on the edge of my seat that I would get to see them the next evening, in their wedding attire again, but this time floating up creek in their canoe.
To Avril and Ben, these are the things photographers dream of. Thank you for letting me be a part of this experience with you. I truly hope our paths cross again!
But the baby on the TV in the background… 😂😂😂😂😂.
