It’s always such a bittersweet thing for me to write my last wedding blog post of the season. Torey and Kyle’s wedding was my last wedding of the year, and while I always look forward to the winter break and holidays, I’m just as sad to see my weekend weddings come to an end for the year. Lucky me, I get to shoot my first 2018 wedding in January, and I’ll even get to see these two there!
Torey and Kyle’s 1899 Experience Venue wedding was elegant and classy, with tons of sentiment sprinkled throughout the day. The story is all in the details. You see, they bought a house not too long before I met them for their engagement session and spent much of the time leading up to the wedding renovating their new home. It all came together just in time for Torey and her girls to get ready at their house while Kyle and the guys got ready at my January groom’s house. These two wanted to make sure the documentary photography style covered all the details and goodies of their day, as well as really focused on the two of them and the romance of it all. I took this and ran with it… fast and far, away into the hills. I LOOOOVVEEEE shooting details and I obviously adore couple portraits… what more could I have asked for!? And when the bride’s beloved pup is included in her getting ready photos? Swoon.
The Mates celebrated their ceremony at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic church, partied the evening away at 1899 Experience Venue (which is now among my ‘top wedding venues to shoot at’ list for Indianapolis), and even made it out to the Indianapolis War Memorial and Obelisk Square in between. They had gorgeous weather in the midst of all of the crazy rain and cold we’ve had this fall, there were donuts AND cake (YES, PLEASE), dancing, laughing, and even some streamer poppers.
To Torey and Kyle, I am so grateful to have met you both. Your love and laughter is contagious (as you will shortly see) and we are all so lucky to have been there with you to celebrate. Cannot wait to see you all again in January! Cheers Mates!
