Man-oh-man has Mother Nature been good to me (to all of us here in Indy) this fall. We’ve had mild weather, little rain (we had plenty in the spring, don’t worry), and seriously gorgeous colors. Of course, if I’m chiming in as an Indianapolis family photographer, I have to brag on the lighting and the sunsets, too. It’s been a dream!! Fall is always my favorite time of year, personally, but I CRAVE it professionally, too. I need the color and tones…NEED THEM.

I met this adorable family at my favorite spot on a Sunday evening and they knocked it out of the park. Of course, Jena and I jinxed ourselves as soon as we started the session – she mentioned wanting to get a great shot of the girls together and that was it. It’s like they hear us or something. 😉 And there was no turning back from there. Don’t worry, Jena, I have plans already for next time!

This little beauty is three and while she pretended to not love the camera, I could be fooled… and the camera certainly loves her. A LOT. I love families that will adventure through the woods with me and these guys were up for anything. We hiked around, looked for bears, and then even had a couples mini-session at the end of our session when the girls (tired and teething) needed a break. Couples will always-and-forever have a special place in my heart and while I normally stick Mom & Dad in front of my camera if the babies allow, it fills my soul to the brim (and then some) when parents give me the heads up that they WANT me to stick them there and get some shots just.for.them.

And I know those are the shots they’ll treasure for a long, long, time to come. Just see for yourself!
